This thread is for anyone who've bought a piece of kit and after a while it turned out to be nothing more than a really expensive paper weight! Basically, the point is to warn people off rubbish stuff, preferably from personal experience! So here's mine: don't buy Epox motherboards! I did about three years ago, liking the great reviews and decent price compared to the major players. However, recently my PC crashed while playing Rome: Total War and wouldn't startup into Windows again . Turns out the capacitors near the CPU had leaked and were screwing up the voltage for my CPU which, if i hadn't realised, may have caused permanent damage to my processor had i kept using it. The problem, i believe, lies with Epox using cheapo components in their motherboards. This happened and i wasn't even overclocking it or anything! On the bright side it has prompted me to have a big upgrade my pc was hankering for, and this time i'll go for a well established and reliable brand such as Asus, Abit or DFI. You have been warned! i don't like vaio laptops.. they over heat bad, and they fall apart quick. I had my mainboard replaced twice before I threatened to sue and was given a different laptop
